Play Fairy with Me!

I continue to like this series! Calen and Maia are sexy, sweet, and cute together. While the initial circumstances of the relationship are totally improbable--he spots her in his club, doesn't know who she is but is obsessed, then saves her from a Russian mob pervert--the fantasy didn't lessen the fun.
I like Maia--she doesn't ignore the danger in some TSTL quest for independence. Actually, she was really happy to stop living in a drafty apartment eating crap food and wearing cheap clothing. It was refreshing to see a heroine who enjoys the lifestyle the hero gives her, instead of resenting it. (Because really, ladies, who resents designer clothing and gourmet meals?) She realizes that Calen's control allows her to do what she really likes--entomology and, ahem, him. Plus, her insecurities make sense. They're plausible characterization rather than plot device.
Calen's fairy captive fantasy was quirky, sexy, and kinda cute. How often do you get that combination? I like that it wasn't some formal thing for the two of them, just a game they fall into together. Leroux writes smex scenes that are convincing, romantic, and erotic. Again, a surprisingly difficult combo to achieve. Me like-y.
I also appreciate how Leroux's heroine handled the reappearance of the bad guy. Often, when a heroine finds herself in peril, I can think of a hundred better courses of action that the one she chooses. Her choice, of course, usually leads her right into the villain's clutches. Not so Maia.
Author consistency can be so hard to find, but Lucy Leroux (got to be a nom de plume, right?) continues to be on my watch list. Keep it up, Lucy! I'm particularly intrigued by the Russian mob pervert's gravel-voiced bodyguard/babysitter.

The characters are relatable and likeable and it's very easy to connect with either of them

22 year old Harvard student Maia was collecting specimens for her supervisor's Entomology class when she saw a rare butterfly. She chased him but stumbled across two men burying a body She tried to run but the men caught her.
Enter Calen, successful nightclub owner with a fetish for fairies *winks*. However, he is also the son of a notorious Irish mafia boss. His father asks him to fill in and negotiate the restitution for a child's death caused by the Russian mafia. Calen refuses at first since he never wanted to be involved in his father's business.
Just before the meeting, Calen overhears a conversation about a woman, and when he catches a glimpse of her, he recognizes the little "fairy" he was looking for...
The characters are relatable and likeable and it's very easy to connect with either of them.
Maia is shy but strong and Calen is very alpha but totally taken by his fairy.
The book had good plot - not to dark and a beautiful love story.
Why did I only give it 4* ? That's because it ended to abruptly, a nice epilogue wouldn't have been too much.
Nice work Ms. Leroux, looking forward to book 3 in this series :))

I loved this story!

I am always one for a good steamy short story, but they get old. There's not enough weight to the characters. It's difficult to get to know them and feel like your in their world.
This book however, was everything I love and more. The characters have layers of emotions as it should be, not just lust. There was enough back sorry to really feel what both of these characters are feeling, so when you do finally get to a sensual scene it's that much easier to see why the slightest touch can set them on fire.
I also love the anticipation, if you wait 5 pages and your main characters are already in the sack there is not as much of a build up as there would be off you had to wait 100 pages.
I was finally not disappointed and I would recommend this book to anyone, over the age of 18...
