Invaluable

I recently started graduate school and I find myself looking at this book more often then not. I ended up reading it the summer before I started and it really prepared me for HOW to ask questions… I cannot stress that enough. It's a great addition to my book collection (even though most are chem/physics) and I still refer to it time and time again because graduate school takes time, and this book holds advice for starting, pushing through, and finishing your thesis/dissertation.
It's a very easy book to begin reading because sooner rather than later you'll realize you're running into these road bumps described. Thankfully Dr. Taskey provides advice and (more importantly) suggestions for being proactive on this long and arduous path. The sections on reasoning are INVALUABLE.
If you're thinking about pursuing a graduate degree and not sure what you may encounter, this is a great first step to comprehend the commitment you are making, but also the potential growth you will have once all is said and done. Even now as I'm designing my research plan and collecting measurements I still feel this book is applicable to my struggles.
Bottom line, unless you're defending in the next couple months, you will benefit from this book in one way or another.
