FAST--anything but loose! A gem.

With his sterling record of business success in a variety of settings and in various executive roles, Tredgold provides genuine insight into the vital elements of effective leading. As demonstrated in his two previous bestsellers (The Practitioner’s Guide to Leadership and Leadership: It’s a Marathon, not a Sprint), he obviously learned how to translate needed information to his teams in understandable and accessible concepts. The FAST acronym is so much more than a clever title—though it is that! The author provides diligent leaders with a comprehensive scheme for moving from project development to completion, maintaining focus and engagement from throughout. Best book on how to get what you want out ...

Best book on how to get what you want out of business, or surprisingly, out of your life in general! Written in an engaging style and sprinkled with interesting examples of real life managerial misfires, Tredgold keeps it simple (the S in Fast) and shows how to employ his straightforward methodology to drive successful outcomes. With FAST, I believe that I have acquired a formidable tool and am excitedly looking forward to putting my new learnings into action. This book should be required reading for all business school students!

Practical guidance in a very readble format

This book is relevant for anyone leading or managing change. Its written in a chatty, entertaining way which makes it an engaging read, its got some great quotes and stories in and there's lots of variety of perspectives. Clearly Tredgold has got masses of experience of managing teams within large organizations. I did wonder if the principles, tools and methods would be appropriate for smaller business and I think most of it probably would. He comments on effective (and in-effective) leadership style, what makes change happen and what people and teams need to stay motivated. Most importantly he talks about what it takes to succeed and drive results. The whole book has an air of 'let's make success happen' which after a while is quite contagious. Very positive read.
